The Ithilmar Phalanx Ranks and Rules Roster Guild Links

Ranks and Rules described

Below you will find the ranks and rules for The Ithilmar Phalanx described. These can/will change over time, but these are the core of what we believe in and follow.

Ranks

Initiate: Initiates are the lowest ranking members, they are the newest to join the guild and are just being watched to make sure they fit in with our vision of the guild. Initiates will remain at that rank for at least 7 days from join date. After the first 7 days, and every 7 days following the first, the High Lord and Lords will meet to decide if the player should be advanced to the Rank of Sentinel. Outside of this, there isn’t any difference between an Initiate and a Sentinel. Items/money should be traded to Initiate’s at trader’s own risk.

Sentinel: These are the everyday members of The Ithilmar Phalanx out hunting, questing, and killing. Only select few of these members will be able to be upgraded to the next rank.

Sentinel Alt: All alt classes for current Sentinels are placed at this ranking, in order to keep standard Sentinel ranks as clean and straight forward as possible. No difference between Sentinel Alts and normal Sentinels other then name.

Champion: Champions, while more numerous then Nobles or Lords will be, will still be far under the headcount of the Sentinels. Champions will be promoted through an election process of the Nobles, Lords and High Lord, with a percentage based limitation on when we introduce a new Champion to the group. Right now we are aiming at a 1:10 Knight:Sentinel ratio, but that could change depending on circumstances. Champions will be there to stop trouble in advance, but they will still not be members of the Inner Council where the Nobles, Lords and High Lords preside. Champion will be in charge of keeping peace within the guild itself, settling disputes among members, and bringing new members into our ranks.

Noble: Nobles are minor Lords, they share the same functions to the guild as do the Lords, but the Lords still have final say is disputs. Nobles will be on the Inner Council guiding The Ithilmar Phalanx, voting alongside the Lords and High Lord. New Nobles will be voted in from the ranks of the Champions, in the same manor that the Champions were voted in.

Lord: These are the highest tiers a person can obtain in The Ithilmar Phalanx. This group is the smallest circle and the most potent in terms capabilities. Lords will be among the long term members and most trusted of the guild members. There will only be very few Lords within the ranks of the Ithilmar Phalanx. New Lords will be voted in from the ranks of the Nobles, in the same manor that the Champions(and Nobles) were voted in. The Lords drive the direction of the guild through dealing with other guilds, internal guild issues, forum moderation, and other tasks. Lords will have all the responsibilities of the Champions, plus any between guild disputes. Lords are the final say should the High Lord not be present, and their word should be followed by all.

High Lord: The High Lord can not be advanced to as a ranking like the other ranks. While the High Lord remains an active player, fulfilling his duty to the Inner Council, the guild, and whatever other duties he takes on, he remains on his chair. The Lords and Nobles can decide to vote the current High Lord off and replace him, but this must be a majority vote between all those members. Should the High Lord be impeached from his current position, or stop being an active player of WAR, the Lords may request a vote from the guild as a whole as to who the next Guild leader will be. The new High Lord will be chosen from the ranks of the current Lords, should there be no one able, or wanting, to take on that then the next High Lord will be voted in from the ranks of the Nobles. The High Lord will be responsible for making/breaking alliances with other guilds, resolving issues within the higher ranks of the guild, presiding over any guild functions if possible, among other involved tasks.

Rules

All disputes between guild members should be handled in a progressing manner, starting with the involved parties. Steps should then be to the Champions > Nobles > Lords > and then if all else fails, the High Lord. Try to settle issues on your own first, as maturely as possible, before advancing through the ranks. Should a dispute become a chronic issue within the guild, all those involved can be kicked out of the guild.

No leeching off the guild. It is fine to ask for help, but to always ask for assistance and never be able to offer any assistance in any form in return is wrong. If a member is found guilty of this, they can be kicked out of The Ithilmar Phalanx.

Always take the time to answer a guildmate’s question; even if your answer is “I Don’t Know”, at least the player knows he isn’t being ignored within his own guild.

When doing any group activities, stay until the end no matter the outcome. If the group wipes due to some circumstance, does not mean the group should disband afterward. At least you can make the effort to stay until the group as a whole decides to disband.

If your character has not logging into the guild for three months or more, we will have to assume you quit, and thus will kick you out of the guild. More then welcome to rejoin if/when you come back into the game.
